Voicing characters in animation, video games & anime are the stuff voiceover dreams are made of. Having the opportunity to take ownership of a character and infuse it with your flavor and vocal stylings can be an incredibly liberating and fun experience. The four actors on this panel are all working in the world of character voices and they want to share their insights and experiences with other performers interested in doing the same thing.

Join us for this special evening of learning, laughter and good times with this eclectic voiceover foursome.

PANELIST BIOS

Ian James Corlett

For 3 decades decades Ian has been serving up unique voice characterizations for projects of every genre.

His beginnings were voicing radio and TV commercials and soon found himself working in animated features and series such as the EMMY- nominated cuteness of Dinosaur Train, Cartoon Network’s zany Johnny Test to the latest Disney Jr hit Vampirina.

Ian cemented his standing in animation history by originating the iconic English voice of GOKU in Dragonball Z as well as voicing many other 90’s icons like Cheetor in Beastwars/Transformers, the original Megaman and BOB in Reboot.

Most of Ian’s time is spent in front of a microphone, but when he isn’t recording he’s writing, creating several hit series’ including his namesake, Being Ian which ran for 65 episodes and a movie.

Ian spends his non-working time following professional motorsport and racing his own cars. Ian has a son, daughter and lovely wife. He escaped the rain of Vancouver and is a recent transplant to LA.

Kari Wahlgren

From Animation to Anime to Video Games, Kari Wahlgren is one of the top voice actresses in Los Angeles. Her first role as Haruko in FLCL remains a fan favorite, and her voice can be heard in Emmy and Academy Award-winning animated films and TV shows.

Trevor Devall

Trevor Devall is a prolific Los Angeles-based voice actor and writer, having voiced hundreds of characters in animated television movies, series, feature films and video games. Some favorites: Rocket Raccoon in Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy, Ravus Nox Fleuret in Final Fantasy XV, Iron Will, Hoity Toity and Fancy Pants on My Little Pony: Friendship is Magic, Agent Hollywood in Agents of Mayhem, Emperor Palpatine, Admiral Ackbar and many others in Lego Star Wars: The Yoda Chronicles, Droid Tales, and The Freemaker Adventures, a wide assortment of supporting characters on Netflix’s F is for Family, Skrap-It and Garby on Dreamworks’ Dinotrux, Dukey on Cartoon Network’s Johnny Test, Jayce on the globally popular League of Legends video game, Pyro in X-Men: Evolution, and the voice of the alien helmsman Hermiod on Stargate: Atlantis.

In anime, he has performed such roles as Aizawa in Death Note, Mu Laflaga in Gundam Seed, Togusa in Ghost in the Shell-SAC, Alpha Q in Transformers: Energon, Mr Match in Megaman: NT Warrior, and many more.

On camera, Trevor starred as the villainous Sir Atticus Moon, alongside Big Time Rush in their made-for-Nickelodeon feature, Big Time Movie.

Brock Powell

Brock Powell is a proud SAG AFTRA actor and voice actor who spends way too much time watching cartoons and playing video games. You’ve heard him in video games such as God of War, and in Milo Murphy’s Law on the Disney channel and as the official voice of the Kool Aid Man.
