The Business Online: Introduction to Mental Health

Join Licensed Clinical Social Workers Melissa Wacks and Rachel Terte for a discussion about mental health in the performing community. We will address issues that can be specific to creative people and ways “the business” may impact performers’ mental health. We will provide tools to self-assess your need for mental health support, taking the first steps in getting help, and what to expect in the therapy process.

Rachel and Melissa worked together at New York University’s Tisch School of the Arts providing mental health support and counseling for actors, filmmakers, writers, dancers, and other visual and performing artists. They are both currently in full-time private practice in New York City.

PLEASE NOTE: This program is not meant to serve as a clinical evaluation for any specific individual. We instead would like to present ways of thinking about mental health specific to actors and performers and introducing tools for self-assessment.
