Spring 2021 Fireside Chat with SAG-AFTRA Foundation President Courtney B. Vance

Please watch our quarterly Fireside Chat video from our President Courtney B. Vance who gives an update to our Disaster Relief Fund, speaks to some new events happening around this week’s SAG Awards, and closes with an important call for solidarity.

Disaster Relief Fund: To date, we’ve granted over $6.5 million in emergency aid to more than 7,000 SAG-AFTRA artists in need of COVID-19 relief. Applications take a week to process. Please check the site for updates.

If you are a SAG-AFTRA member who has been affected by the floods in Tennessee or Kentucky, our Disaster Relief Fund is here for you. If you need help, apply at https://www.sagaftra.foundation/disasterrelief.

And if you can help your fellow SAG-AFTRA artists in need, please give at https://www.sagaftra.foundation/donate.

SAG Awards: The SAG Awards is not only a time where we honor excellence among our peers whose work stood out, but also a moment where we come together in mutual support as a community. Be sure to tune in to the 27th Annual SAG Awards on Sunday, April 4 at 6pm/9pm ET on TNT and TBS.

As the benefiting charity of the annual SAG Awards, this year our revenue streams look very different from previous award shows, so we’ve had to come up with some fun alternatives to raise money for our Foundation…such as supporting our Foundation by purchasing a limited-edition SAG Awards Watch Box with net proceeds benefiting our programs. Purchase yours at https://www.sagawardswatchbox.com.

In addition, you can watch a special virtual table read benefit of Happy Days benefiting our Foundation featuring Henry Winkler reprising his role of “The Fonz” alongside several of this year’s SAG Awards nominees. The Happy Days table read begins streaming today on https://www.people.com at 5pm/8pm ET.

Strength Through Solidarity: Whether it’s on set, on stage, or in real life — the show is only as good as the entire cast that surrounds us. So together we must always seek out ways to support, promote and encourage each other, through thick and thin, good times and bad.

Until next time… stay healthy, stay connected, and when your time comes, get vaccinated.
