Charlotte Rampling on Her Career | Berlinale Talents 2019
Charlotte Rampling’s body of work amounts to more than 100 film and television productions, for which she is the recipient of this year’s Honorary Golden Bear at the Berlinale. Her international breakthrough came with ‘Il portiere di notte’ in 1974. A career of highpoints followed: ‘La caduta degli dei’, ‘Star- dust Memories’ and ‘Swimming Pool’, the latter leading to her being awarded Best Actress at the European Film Awards. Charlotte Rampling has often chosen to embody multifaceted and unconventional figures, which, in her own words, she brings to the screen with an absolute “honesty of feeling.” For the pleasure of the audience attending, film historian Peter Cowie retraces the milestones of an illustrious career with the actress who lived it.
