Terrence Howard Talks “Empire” HFPA Exclusive

Lucious Lyon is the character at the center of Empire – a rap mogul in the Jay Z/Kanye/Sean Combs mold … though just a tad more ruthless. Actor Terrence Howard recently stopped by our offices to talk to the HFPA about the character he plays with gusto. “(Initially) Lee (Daniels) intended him to be straight up Suge Knight” he told us. “But we found a way to touch just a seedling of humanity, of some compassion”. As the soapy Hip Hop dynasty drama produced by Daniels, Danny Strong and Brian Grazer closes out the first season marked by record-breaking success, we continued our conversation with Terrence.
