What $6 Million Per Minute Looks Like

When the IRS comes calling on tax day in April, the economy is on everyone’s mind. That includes Hollywood, too, from the biggest stars to the newest studio employee. This week we take a little of the pain of tax time away with a look at some of the roles money plays in bringing your favorite films to the screen.

It’s no secret that actors have pulled in some major paychecks, but if you want to know who’s gotten the most per minute of screen time, the smart money’s on Marlon Brando. The screen titan earned a whopping $19 million for 10 minutes in the 1978 blockbuster “Superman: The Movie,” and in today’s money, that comes out to over $62.7 million.
