Donald O’Connor presents the Oscar for Music (Scoring of a Musical Picture) to Johnny Green and Saul Chaplin for An American in Paris, the Oscar for Music (Music Score of a Dramatic or Comedy Picture) to Franz Waxman for A Place in the Sun, and the Oscar for Music (Song) to Hoagy Carmichael and Johnny Mercer for “In the Cool, Cool, Cool of the Evening” from Here Comes the Groom, at the 24th Academy Awards. Hosted by Danny Kaye.
