Starring Antonio Banderas in the titular role, the second season of National Geographic’s 10-part, Emmy-nominated global event series, GENIUS, explores how the Spanish-born artist’s passionate nature and relentless creative drive were inextricably linked to his personal life, which included tumultuous marriages, numerous affairs and constantly shifting political and personal alliances.
T.R. Knight played J. Edgar Hoover in season one of the Emmy- and Golden Globe-nominated National Geographic series GENIUS and is back playing Max Jacob in the second season. Other recent credits are “The Catch” opposite Mireille Enos and the Stephen King/J.J. Abrams series “11.22.63.” Broadway credits include “It’s Only a Play,” “A Life in the Theatre,” “Tartuffe” and “Noises Off.” Recent off-Broadway credits include playing Mercutio in “Romeo & Juliet” at the Classic Stage Company and Pocatello in “Playwrights Horizons.” He played Harold Parrott in the film “42” and George O’Malley in “Grey’s Anatomy,” for which he received an Emmy nomination.
