Dénes Nagy | Winner of the Silver Bear for Best Director

The winner of the Silver Bear for Best Director, Dénes Nagy, thanks his largely non-professional actors in “Natural Light” (Természetes fény). After a two-year search to find the right characters, he brought 25 factory and farm workers to shoot his World War II drama in Latvia.

“It has been a singular experience to get to know them, earning their trust and winning their desire to participate.” Congratulations to Dénes on this powerful feature debut!
